Insert, Typeover

• Insert- feature is active when you open a
  software program. Move the insertion point to
  where you want to insert copy key the new text.
  Existing copy will move to the right
• Typeover- allows you to replace current copy with
  newly keyed text
• Mode buttons

Bold, Italic, Underline

• Bold - feature prints text darker than other
  copy, CTRL B
• Italic - feature prints letters that slope up
  toward the right, CTRL I
• Underline - feature underlines text as it is
  keyed, CTRL U

Alignment

• Alignment- refers to the horizontal postion of a
  line of text
• Left alignment - start text at the left
  margin, CTRL L
• Right alignment - start text at the right
  margin, CTRL R
• Center - center lines of text between the
  left and right margins, CTRL E

Undo, Redo

• Undo - feature to reverse the last change
  you made in text
• Redo - feature to reverse the last Undo action
• Edit menu

Hyphenation

• Hyphenation- feature automatically divides
  (hyphenates) words that would normally wrap to
  the next line

Speller, F7

• Speller- use the speller to check words,
  documents, or parts of documents for
  misspellings. A speller checks a document by
  comparing each word in the document to words in
  its dictionary

View and Zoom

• View and Zoom- feature to increase or decrease
  the amount of the page appearing on the screen

Hard Page Break

• You insert hard page breaks manually when you
  want a new page to begin before the current one
  is full

Tabs

• Left tab - align text evenly at the left
  margin by placing text you key to the right of
  the tab setting
• Right tab - align text evenly at the right by
  placing the text you key to the left of the tab
  setting
• Decimal tab - align all text at the decimal
  point or other character that you specify
