Usage of social services

• No exact data but
• The more intensive violence the more help and
  services seeking
• 76 of women in severe and 55 in violent
  relationship looked for some help
• increasing number of women searching for
  solutions
• rarely in crisis centres and helplines

• Insufficient awareness
• Clients satisfaction with the services (?)

Conclusions

• De - tabooisation of VAW in 1995 2002
• Improvement of legislation and dramatic increase
  of IPV cases recorded by police (culmination in
  2004)
• Since then, decreased of recorded cases by
  remaining of same high level of IPV real
  prevalence
• Low awareness about the social services for
  women
• Diverse rate of social services satisfaction -
  absence of quality standards for IPV cases
• Very few specialised womens shelters
• Result re-latency of the IPV
• We were not prepared!
