Who is my childs teacher?

• This is my 22nd year of teaching
• 8 years at WPMS grades 6 and 8
• 1st year at San Elijo Middle School
• Have taught grades 2-6, and 8 focusing on
  Language Arts
• Received Multiple Subjects teaching credential in
  May 1987 from SDSU with an authorization to
  teach English through grade 9.

Course Description

• Students will focus on active engagement with the
  text. Novels will include Hatchet and two others
• Text McDougal Littell Interactive Reader
• Accessing Complex Text
• Students will write narratives, arguments to
  support claims, and informative/explanatory
  texts.
• They are using the 6 traits of writing creating
  common language on through college.

Expectations

• Students are expected to complete homework on
  time. For each late day, homework is docked
  10.
• Homework is reading 100 pages per week and
  completing classroom assignments.

Grading Procedures

• All 6th grade ELA classes here at SEMS are using
  the following scale for grading
• Assessments
• Assignments
• They are weighed equally with points given

Misc. Info

• When students are absent they are responsible for
  making up the work. Students are given one day
  to make up work for each day absent.
• Im available before school, during lunch and
  after school for students.
