Pinterest is an excellent forum for DIY projects,
recipes, accessories, fashion and much more to
search and save inspiration. When it was first
released in March 2010, Pinterest was described
as a "curation device," in which users were able
to "pin" the photos and information they wanted
to save. It's grown to be a lot more than that
today! Pinterest can be a Marketing Tool for
online retailers. Users are more likely to buy
things they'll find on Pinterest than any other
social networks.
3
  • This is largely because Pinterest users are
proactively searching for items to buy, rather
than just scrolling through a tube.
  • With most retail stores closed and shopping
choices limited, people turn to Pinterest-a place
to get creative ideas and try new items to
    purchase.
  • In addition, Pinterest has seen high traffic
rates in recent weeks, with more people searching
for related items to fit their home office,
entertain their kids and take care of themselves
    despite COVID-19 lockdowns.

4
  • In fact, Pinterest can be a substitute for your
local shopping mall in one way-but one with far
more choices and products more precisely tailored
    to your interests.
  • For retailers responding to drastic shifts in
consumer spending, e-commerce has become more
    important than ever.
  • Pinterest published a new study this week on the
actions of Pinterest users, and how it relates to
    the purchasing process.
  • In fact, Pinterest says 83 per cent of weekly
Pinners made a purchase more frequently from a
Pin-based brand and engaged Pinners shop and are
    eager to try new things.

5
  • With recent developments like its authentication
program and streamlined uploads of catalogues,
Pinterest can be a critical opportunity for
retailers to aggressively seek to reduce their
    losses.
  • Perhaps all of the foot traffic and resulting
purchases will not be replaced, but most
consumers are still searching for products and
based on those figures, successful Pinners are
    certainly ready to buy.
  • Pinterest is hosting a webinar on April 7th at 11
am PDT to help retailers get the most out of
their efforts on the platform, so register for
this webinar if you're trying to get a clear
understanding of where the platform could fit in
    with your marketing strategy.
