Do I Need Protein Supplement for Muscle Gain
  • No. It is not compulsory to take supplements, but
many people take them these days. You can also
get proteins from your diet. Some protein-rich
foods are pulses, eggs, vegetables, nuts, milk,
cheese, etc. If you plan to take a protein
supplement, then be sure to check the product
    ingredients.
  • Amino acids play an important role in muscle
development. BCAA stands for Branched Chain Amino
Acid and there are three important BCAAs
Valine, Leucine and Isoleucine. They are grouped
together since they have a molecular structure
that branches to one side. BCAAs are required by
the body as they might help with many things such
as reduction of muscle damage and building muscle
    mass

2
  • You can take supplements made from different
sources like peas, milk, quinoa, rice, plants,
soya, etc. Whey protein supplements have become
really popular now. Whey protein is obtained from
milk and is said to contain 9 essential amino
acids. Whey protein and casein are the two
proteins found in milk. Casein digests slowly in
the body when compared to whey protein. There are
many popular whey protein brands in India such
as MuscleBlaze, ON, Oziva, NutraBay, etc. It is
tough to decide the best protein supplement for
    muscle repair.

  • Some people might experience certain reactions to
taking whey protein supplements. This could be
due to taking it in excess or because their
system doesnt tolerate it. Some issues include
nausea, stomach pain, reduction in hunger, skin
problems like acne, tiredness, etc. Many brands
add a lot of additives. Always read through the
additives and find out more about them.
  • Some common additives are artificial colours,
    artificial flavours, artificial sweeteners
    (Erythritol, Acesulfame Potassium, Saccharin,
    Aspartame, Sucralose, etc.), Gums Thickeners,
    Vegetable Oils Fats, etc.
