When you imagine pen pals, you typically think of people writing to each other who live in different parts of the world; however, this doesn't actually have to be the case. Many people develop pen pal relationships with prison inmates. New people each day are starting to send letters to inmates, trying to reach out and offer friendship to the people locked away who are often lonely and seek companionship.
