Title: KS4 Monitoring and Tracking Systems
1KS4 Monitoring and Tracking Systems
2What is it?
A system able to track the performance of year 10
and 11 students as they complete their GCSEs.
Allows us to identify those students who are
performing above expectations, as well as those
students who are performing below expectations.
3How does it work?
Uses FISCHER grades, which are predicted grades
for each student for each subject. Tracking
compares each students target grade with their
actual grade. We will start immediately by using
SATS results and identifying students who
performed below expectations. Initially we will
concentrate on core subjects such as Maths,
English and Science. As we progress throughout
the year we will take option subjects into
consideration.
4So when does tracking happen?
Tracking will take place each term in subject
areas. Subject staff will liaise with parents at
Curriculum surgeries and through progress
reviews. Tracking will be based on assessments
completed in each subject area and for the Year
10 examinations. We will also choose a selection
of students to be mentored who we feel would
benefit from additional support focusing on the
core subjects.
5What actions do we take if students are under or
over performing?
- Under-Performing
- Students and parents will be informed.
- Potential problems and individual strategies
for improvement will be discussed with the
students.
- Over-Performing
- Students and parents will be informed.
- Recognition for excellent work
- Ensure students are being challenged and
stretched in those subjects they are
over-performing in

8Attendance
- Attendance
- Attendance is crucial at KS4 as any time off
- school will have a direct impact on the
- achievement of the student. Students on
- 87 attendance will underperform by at
- least two grades below their ability due to
- missing vital lessons and learning
- opportunities.
