• In Salonae, Dalmatia which is now Croatia.
• Father was a scribe or a senators slave.
• Spent most of his time at military camps.
• Married Prisa in 293.
• Had a daughter named Valeria.

• Was a Roman General.
• Emperor Carnus died.
• Son Numerian took his place.
• Numerian died.

• Carnuss other son, Carinus, was emperor.
• Carinus died in battle.
• Diocletian was chosen by the military.

• Diocletian became emperor in 284.
• Ordered the last persecution of the Christians.
