  a group of Australian institutions for
• Upgrade architecture planning.
• Comparative assessment of environments.
• Identifying best practices.
• The results have been found to offer a valid
  point of comparison among different PeopleSoft
  sites.
• Definitive and consistent patterns were found.

• Tony Neaton has solicited PeopleSoft Ping
  information from all member institutions of the
  HEUG in order to collate the results and provide
  information on the results.
• The CSU is interested in gathering Ping
  statistics in order to
• Provide a basis for comparison between
  environments system wide.

  performance issues when they do arise.

• Run the benchmark at a time when the system is
  experiencing low usage.
• This is different for every campus, but early in
  the morning is probably a good time.
• The CSU is requesting that benchmarks be provided
  for HCM 8.9 and FIN 8.4 production instances.
• Additional information from non-production
  environments can also be very helpful and would
  be greatly appreciated.

• Enter a Test Case Identifier.
• Template Campus_Database
• Examples POMONA_DEV, CSULB_PRD
• Set the Repeat Time Interval to 10 seconds.
• Click Run.
• Click Stop when the Counter has reached 60 or
  greater.

• Navigate to PeopleTools ? Utilities ? PeopleSoft
  Ping ? PeopleSoft Ping Chart.
• The PeopleSoft Ping Chart will give you a
  graphical image of the time elapsed from each of
  the different layers (Browser, Web, App, and
  Database Servers).
• Click on the Query Viewer button to see a grid of
  the results.

• Click the Download to Excel link.
• Make sure your pop-up blocker is not on. If you
  still have problems, try holding down the CTRL
  button and clicking the link.

• HCM PRD only
• CSULB_HCM_PRD file name
• FIN multiple database instances
• POMONA_FIN file name
• Sheets DEV, TRN, PRD, etc.
