What is Diabetes Type 2?
  • A chronic blood disorder where the blood is
    unable to use the energy from glucose so then the
    excess glucose is free to float in system

What Does Type 2 Diabetes do to People?
  • Leftover glucose accumulates in bloodstream,
    causing serious effects on the heart, eyes,
    kidneys, and nerves
  • It is also a leading cause of death in the United
    States

  • May have a stroke
  • Eye Problems
  • Heart attack
  • Kidney problems
  • Hard time urinating
  • Swollen feet

Who does Diabetes Type 2 effect?
  • Millions of Americans have been diagnosed while
    many others do not even know that they have it
  • Those who have a weight issue, smoke, are not
    active, and have high blood pressure or
    cholesterol are in risk of getting diabetes.

  • Non-controllable risks are family history, age,
    ethnic race, or have gestational diabetes

Treatments/Managing Diabetes Type 2
  • Exercise and dieting is normally a good way to
    lower diabetes level, but in some cases
    medication is necessary.
  • Reading food labels to check for sugars is
    necessary, drawing blood, and constant doctor
    appointments.

Type 1 and Type 2???
  • The main difference between type 1 and 2 diabetes
    is type one doesnt make enough insulin to use
    glucose while type 2 doesnt make insulin or
    there is enough and the cells ignore it.
  • Type one is normally found in children and young
    adults, known as juvenile diabetes.
