Sexual Harassment/Assault
  • All perpetrators, those who fail to prevent
    assaults, those who knowingly protect
    perpetrators after the fact, and those who would
    shun or harass those with the courage to come
    forward and report criminals, should know that we
    dont want you in our Air Force - not I not
    General Jumper nor our colleagues.

If You Have BeenSexually Assaulted
  • Ensure personal safety
  • Seek medical attention
  • Dont disturb possible evidence (e.g. save
    clothes from assault) evidence can be collected
    from an assault 72 hours after assault occurred
  • File a police report

Helping A Victim ofSexual Assault
  • Any immediate needs (med., safety, emotional)?
  • Be calm, not angry or threatening listen.
  • Be nonjudgmental about victims response to rape
    common responses are to freeze, fight, run
  • Let victim make decisions help victim to make
    informed decisions.
  • Do not pressure victim for information.

  • Attend Field Training (FT) between AS 200 and AS
    300 year
  • AS 300/400 in Professional Officer Course (POC)
  • Hold a cadet officer position in the cadet wing
  • Organize and execute training activities for GMC
  • Results in a commission as 2nd Lt upon graduation

  • Professional Military Training (PMT)
  • Drill and Ceremonies (DC), Customs and
    Courtesies, Group Leadership Problems (GLPs),

  • Book and Uniform Issue
  • AS 100 and 200 books go to Det and see Ms Dupree
  • AS 300 and 400 books will be handed out by
    instructor
  • Uniforms call Ms Dupree before next week to find
    out when uniform room hours are and to make an
    appointment for uniform issue.
  • Deposits uniform deposits are 100.00
    (refundable when cadet is commissioned or leaves
    the program).
  • Note Uniforms cannot be issued until
    in-processing paperwork is turned in (to SSgt
    Ferguson or Jimenez)

CoC Expectations
  • CUSTOMS COURTESIES
  • You should know your customs, courtesies, proper
    military etiquette, and decorum cold. As members
    of AFROTC, you represent the United States Air
    Force. The public (other students/faculty) will
    scrutinize you while you wear the uniform.
    Represent your nation proudly.
  • PROFESSIONALISM
  • Your professionalism should be above reproach at
    all times. I do not expect to have to reprimand
    you for being unprofessional.
  • RESPECT
  • Respect flows both up and down the chain of
    command. You must have respect for both your
    superiors and subordinates, as well as for
    yourself. If there is one lesson I want you to
    take away from here and apply on active duty, it
    is this If you do not respect your subordinates,
    they will never respect you.

  • The line must be drawn between GMC/POC

Physical Training Program
  • IAW AFROTCMAN 36-201 and AFROTCI 36-2017
  • Must attend 80 of PT sessions
  • Tardiness 3 times late 1 absent
  • PT offered 3X per week at UM IM Field
  • Tue 0600 0700 hrs
  • Wed 1600 1700 hrs
  • Thu 0700 0800 hrs
  • First session 13 Sep
  • Pick 2 PT days will attend SAME 2 days every
    week
  • Will not change days for any reason
  • Failure to attend PT results in failure of LLAB
    almost 20 cadets cut in Fall term 2004

Physical Training Program
  • CCs PT Waiver
  • Non-Dade cross-town cadets do NOT have to attend
    PT at UM due to distance
  • Submit workout regimen for approval to COC
  • Non-Dade cadets may workout on their own and turn
    in weekly report to Physical Fitness Officer
    (PFO, Cadet Pizarro) stating type and duration of
    training
  • Note
  • Participation requirements can be met by
  • (1) enrollment in PE or kinesiology course
  • (2) or working out on your own (as stated
    previously)
  • ALL REQUIRE A WEEKLY FITNESS REPORT TO BE TURNED
    IN

Physical Training Program
  • CCs PT waiver cont.
  • If training on your own training must consist of
    a combination of the following
  • At least 30 minutes of cardio training at
    moderate to high intensity (running, biking,
    swimming, cardio machine, etc) this is mandatory
    each session
  • Push-ups
  • Sit-ups (or combo of ab work)
  • Pull-ups
  • Attendance may also be waived on a case by case
    basis for Dade cadets
  • Examples are intercollegiate athletics
    participation and scheduling conflicts
  • MUST BE EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES lack of trans does

  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Given once per semester
  • All cadets must attempt the PFT contract cadets
    must pass the PFT each semester
  • Consists of
  • Ab Circumference
  • Push-ups
  • Crunches
  • 1.5 Mile Run
  • Note Standards for exercises posted in cadet
    hangar

  • Participation Requirements for PT Activities
    (chronologically listed)
  • Must have certified DOD physical or
    Pre-Participatory Sports Physical on File
  • Complete and turn in Physical Health Screening
    Questionnaire (PHSQ)
  • Participate in at least 2 PT activities per week
    for 30 days
  • New cadets participate in Physical Fitness
    Diagnostic (PFD) essentially a practice PFT
    (does not count)
  • Note See your Flt CC for PHSQ and Physical
    paperwork

    conditions
  • Cadet had no visible health concerns during PFD
  • Cadet must attempt PFD
  • Cadet agrees they can attempt PFT
  • PFT is conducted no earlier than 72 hours after
    PFD

  • Safety for PT Activities
  • Continuously hydrate the day before and the day
    of PT activities
  • If you are thirsty you are dehydrated!!!!
  • Will help prevent heat stress disorders (ie heat
    stroke, heat exhaustion, etc)
  • If there are any health problems or incidents
    report it immediately to cadre member!!!!!
