WOAA Mission

• Construct a new public use airport in West Orange
  County region
• Promote airport as a transportation node and
  economic engine for the local community

Florida Demand/Capacity Study -2004

• Based upon projections on demand at the
  congested airports, it appears that there is a
  need for a new airport in the region, even if all
  the committed and potential capacity enhancing
  projects are undertaken.

Transportation System Future of air travel is
use of new SATS advanced quiet small 4-seat
aircraft flying from small local airports point
to point, on-demand air taxi, for coach level
fares.

Status

• Investigating potential airport sites
• potential donation of site by landowner
• Orange County owned land in Lake County
• State owned land north of Lake Apopka
• purchase of land in todays down market
• potential donation of existing private airport
• Requires Updated Feasibility Study to be
  performed by consultant to locate suitable
  airport site that meets technical FAA criteria
• Study required to apply for Federal funding for
  airport

• Identify 3-5 best airport locations
• Apply for FAA and State funding for design and
  construction of airport
• Time is now with land values low, Federal money
  flowing, and need for economic engine

• 3 bidders for work made presentations to WOAA
  Board CDM, OAC, and ZHA
• ZHA ranked 1, local firm, does GOAA work
• Contract terms and 50,000 fee negotiated with
  ZHA
• Contract signed subject to funding
• ZHA ready to immediately perform and deliver
  Feasibility Study within 120 days
