12Other Stuff
- 21 Credit Hours must be 5000 level or higher (you
will already have 17) - 21 credit hours must be at osu (you will already
have 17) - You must file a plan of study before you take
more than 17 credits
13What is a Plan of Study?
- It is the contract between you and OSU that
states what you have to do to earn a Masters
degree. - It is signed by your advisor, and 2 committee
members. - Once your plan of study is completed, you are
well on the way to getting done.
14Are You Going To Do More Than One Online Course
While Gone?
- If so, that puts you over the 17 credit hour
limit of courses that you can complete before
filing a plan of study. - Solve that problem by filing a plan of study
before you leave
15Who is Your Advisor?
- Your default advisor is Dr. David Henneberry,
Director, International Agricultural Programs. - You are welcome to select any other faculty
member in the college of agriculture if you wish - We can provide committee members or you can do
that yourself if you wish. Students on campus
always find their own, but off-campus students
may not have the exposure to faculty to know who
to select.
16Is there a comprehensive exam?
- No, but we do have a final committee meeting to
review your degree and make sure all the
requirements have been completed before graduation
17You Are in Charge
- No one is really looking after your degree
progress but you (welcome to graduate school!) - Use e-mail to communicate with dr. david
henneberry or dr. adel tongco - The individual problems you have will be solved
individually so communication is the key
18Is there a Graduation Ceremony?
- Yes, the Masters of international agriculture
program will be holding its own graduation
ceremonies on Friday afternoon, after which the
students also go to the OSU graduate convocation
at 7 pm (if they wish).
