My mornings
  • Starting off every morning making fresh scones
    for the restaurant.
  • Everything is made from scratch and no mixes are
    used
  • Check dessert levels and see what needs to be
    decorated and produced for the day
  • Since there are many functions during the summer
    months you always have to make sure you know
    whats on the function menu to see what desserts
    are needed separate from the regular.

Functions
  • Pineridge Hollow hosts everything from a small 15
    person reservations with plated desserts to
    hi-teas and weddings
  • Hi-teas involve scones, dainties, flavored cream
    cheese, loafs and small sandwiches. Everything
    but sandwiches is taken care off by the baker.
  • Wedding desserts are chosen by the costumer and
    can go according to season
  • Wedding cakes can either be ordered to be made at
    the restaurant or brought in from elsewhere.

The Tent
  • Used for weddings, general reservations such as
    hi-tea that cannot be accommodated in the
    restaurant.
  • Also held the Mothers Day Buffet

  • Being a restaurant the work space including
    ovens, fridge freezer and tools are all shared
    between the bakers and cooks
  • This makes for a difficult time, especially
    during major functions when everybody is fighting
    for the same thing
  • This is a good place to realize whether working
    in a restaurant is for you or not

    whipped cream frosting and Skor pieces drizzled

  • Pineridge Hollow host a farmers market every
    Saturday starting July 2
  • Crafts and kids events.
  • Inner city youth stopped by and got to decorate
    cookies that I made for them.

Conclusion
  • Overall a definite learning experience. I know
    now what restaurant life is all about. Although
    not all restaurants are the same.
