Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to
him for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and
his wife hath made herself ready. Revelation

  • And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in
the hand of the potter so he made it again into
another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter
    to make.Jeremiah 184
  • A Story Worth Repeating is about the One who has
shaped us into who we are today and is an
adaptation of The Seven C's of History from an
    organization called Answers in Genesis.

Creationliteral interpretation/seven 24 hour
days (yom)/young earth / 6000 years
  • In the beginning God created (bara) the heavens
and the earth. Genesis 1 1
  • Elohim - majestic and omnipotent God
  • bara - created from nothing
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the
beginning with God.  All things were made through
Him, and without Him nothing was made that was
    made.    John 13
  • God spoke, Jesus created
  • Then God said,
  • "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that
    yields
  • seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit
    according to its kind,
  • whose seed is in itself, on the earth" and it
    was so...So God
  • created (bara) great sea creatures and every
    living thing that
  • moves, with which the waters abounded, according
    to their
  • kind, and every winged bird according to its
    kind... Then God
  • said, "Let the earth bring forth the living
    creature according to
  • its kind cattle and creeping thing and beast of
    the earth, each
  • according to its kind" and it was so.  Genesis
    1 11-24

God created all things distinct to their kind.
4
Then God said, " Let Us make man in Our image,
according to Our likeness,  let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds
of the air, and over the cattle, over all the
earth and over every creeping thing that creeps
on the earth."  So God created (bara) man in His
own image in the image of God He created ( bara)
Him male and female He created (bara) them.
Genesis 1 26-27
  • Man did not evolve from an animal.  Man was God's
special creation, made in the image of God, with
an eternal spirit capable of intimate fellowship
    with our Creator!
  • Then God saw everything that He had made, and
indeed it was very good.  Genesis 1 31

Corruption literal fall - man rebelling against
God's rule / Adam and Eve eating of the
forbidden tree
"Cursed is the ground for your sake in toil you
shall eat of it all the days of your life.  Both
thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
and you shall eat the herb of the field.  In the
sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you
return to the ground, for out of it you were
taken for dust you are, and to dust you shall
return...  therefore the Lord God sent him out of
the garden of Eden... He drove out the man...
Genesis 3 17-24
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered
the world, and death through sin, and thus death
spread to all men, because all sinned  Romans 5
12
But your iniquities have separated you from your
God And your sins have hidden His face from
you...  Isaiah 59 2
  • Sin (rebellion against God) brought separation of
fellowship with God.  God cursed the ground,  now
there were thorns, thistles, and weeds.  Death
    and decay entered the world.
  • "And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her Seed He shall
bruise your head, and you shall bruise His
    heel."  Genesis 3 15
  • As God pronounced these harsh new realities, He
also gave the hope and promise of a Redeemer!
    Genesis 3 15 "first gospel.

Catastrophe Worldwide Flood 2400 BC
  • Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every intent of the
thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on
the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.  So
the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have
created from the face of the earth, both man and
beast, creeping thing and bird of the air, for I
am sorry that I have made them."  But Noah found
grace in the eyes of the Lord.  Genesis 6
5-8And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh
has come before Me, for the earth is filled with
violence through them and behold, I will destroy
them with the earth.  Make yourselves an ark
...and you shall go into the ark - you, your
sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.
And of every living thing of all flesh you shall
bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep
them alive with you   Genesis 6 13-19
  • Then the Lord said to Noah, "Come into the
ark...on the very same day Noah and Noah's sons,
Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife and the
three wives of his sons with them, entered the
ark - they and every beast after its kind...and
the Lord shut Him in.  Now the Flood was on the
earth forty days.  The water increased and lifted
up the ark, and it rose high above the earth...
And all flesh died that moved on the earth birds
and cattle and beast and every creeping thing
that creeps on the earth, and every man.  All in
whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of
life, all that was on dry land, died...Only Noah
and those who were with him in the ark remained
alive.  Genesis 7 1-23 For this they willfully
forget that by the word of God the heavens were
of old, and the earth standing out of water and
in the water, by which the world that then
existed perished, being flooded with water.  But
the heavens and the earth which are now preserved
by the same word, are reserved for fire until the
day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.  2
    Peter 3 5-7
  • Just as a corrupt and wicked world was judged by
the worldwide flood, a coming judgment by fire
will come. "But as the days of Noah were, so also
will the coming of the Son of Man be.  For as in
the days before the flood, they were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until
the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not
know until the flood came and took them all away,
so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
    Matthew 24 37-39

Just as God provided an ark for Noah and his
family, He has also provided an 'ark' of
salvation for us!

ConfusionThe Tower of Babel
  • Now the whole earth had one language and one
speech.  And it came to pass, as they journeyed
from the east, that they found a plain in the
land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.  Then they
said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks
and bake them thoroughly."  They had brick for
stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.  And they
said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a
tower whose top is in the heavens let us make a
name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad
over the face of the whole earth." But the Lord
came down to see the city and the tower which the
sons of men had built.  And the Lord said,
"Indeed the people are one and they all have one
language, and this is what they begin to do now
nothing that they propose to do will be withheld
from them.  Come, let Us go down and there
confuse their language, that they may not
understand one another's speech."  So the Lord
scattered them abroad from there over the face of
all the earth, and they ceased building the
city.  Therefore, its name is called Babel,
because there the Lord confused the language of
all the earth and from there the Lord scattered
them abroad over the face of all the earth.
    Genesis 11 1-9
  • And so the beginning of different people groups.
  • And He has made from one blood every nation of
men to dwell on all the face of the earth... Acts
    17 26
  • There is no such thing as races.
  • The Hebrew verb for confuse sounds similar to the
name of Babel.  Babylon, ancient city of
paganism, is merely a site of confusion because
there the Lord confused the language.  Babel
(Babylon) acts as a name and symbol in the Bible
for activities directed against God by the
    nations of the earth.

Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother of Harlots
And Of The Abominations Of The Earth  Revelations
17 5 Babylon throughout the Bible refers to a
place that attempts to exist separate from God.
In Revelation, it refers either symbolically or
in reference to an actually rebuilt city, as a
place of seduction, where people are seduced into
committing spiritual adultery and are drunk with
power.  In Revelation 16, we read that great
Babylon is remembered before God and receives the
fierceness of His wrath.

Christ
  • For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory
    of God.  Romans 3 23Romans 3 23 shows our
need for a Redeemer, One who could give atonement
for our sins. Also for Adam and his wife the
Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
Genesis 3 21Just as God provided a covering
for Adam and Eve in the garden, He has provided a
covering, atonement,  for our sins in Jesus.
  • "For there is born to you this day in the city of
David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2
11Jesus was the "promised seed" Genesis 3
15And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has
come to this house, because he also is a son of
Abraham, for the Son of Man has come to seek and
to save that which was lost."  Luke 199

Cross
...and without the shedding of blood there is no
remission.  Hebrews 9 22A blood atonement was
needed for the remission/removal of sin.The
next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and
said, "Behold!  The Lamb of God who takes away
the sin of the world!"  John 1 29For indeed
Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.  1
Corinthians 5 7 There is a price to be paid for
sin, either the sinner himself (eternity in
hell), or a substitute payment.  Jesus paid the
price, He was the ultimate sacrifice, once and
for all, dying in our place, that all who believe
in Him will not perish but have everlasting
life.
  • ...for this He did once and for all when He
offered up Himself.  Hebrews 7 27For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.  For God did
not send His Son into the world to condemn the
world, but that the world through Him might be
saved.  John 3 16-17Salvation is ours for the
taking, a gift that we either accept, or refuse.

Consummation
  • Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white
horse.  And He who sat on him was called Faithful
and True, and in righteousness He judges and
makes war.  His eyes were like a flame of fire,
and on His head were many crowns.  He had a name
written that no one knew except Himself.  He was
clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name
is called The Word of God.  And the armies in
heaven, clothed in fine linen white and clean,
followed Him on white horses.  Now out of His
mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should
strike the nations.  And He Himself will rule
them with a rod of iron.  He Himself treads the
winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty
God.  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a
name written  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
    Revelation 19 11-16

12
And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the
throne a scroll written inside and on the back,
sealed with seven seals.  Then I saw a strong
angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is
worthy to open the scroll and to loose it
seals?"  And no one in heaven or on the earth or
under the earth was able to open the scroll, or
to look at it.  So I wept much, because no one
was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or
to look at it.  But one of the elders said to me,
"Do not weep.  Behold, the Lion of the tribe of
Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open
the scroll and to loose its seven seals."
Revelation 5 1-5
  • He who rejects Me, and does not receive My
words, has that which judges him - the word that
I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
    John 12 48
  • Behold, I am coming quickly!Revelation 22 7

13
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life.  For God
did not send His Son into the world to condemn
the world, but that the world through Him might
be saved.  John 3 16-17
