Roundworms

• One rotten apple lying on the ground in an
  orchard could contain 100,000 roundworms
• They brake down dead tissue of plants and animals
• They are parasites
• They have a fluid filled body cavity
• They infect humans

Sponges

• Sponges are the simplest animals.
• Most sponges have a skeleton made of needlelike
  splinters called spicules.
• Sponges belong in the phylum porifera class.
• Sponges can not make their own food.
• Sponges can replace their own body parts.

Cnidarians

• 3 classes Jellyfish, Corals, Sea Anemones
• Comes in two forms, the medusa and the polyp
• Has long tentacles used for stinging
• More complex than sponges
• Has complex tissues, a gut for digesting food,
  and a nervous system

Mollusks

• Second largest
• Circulatory system
• Complex ganglia
• 3 classes- gastropods, bivalves, and cephalopods.
• Live in oceans, fresh water, and land

Flatworms

• Flatworms have bilateral symmetry
• Flatworms have eye-spots but cant focus
• They find their way by sensing the direction the
  light is coming from
• Flatworms have two bumps on their heads that they
  use to food
• Flatworms are divided into three groups
  planarians, flukes, and tapeworms.

Annelid Worms

• Break down organic matter
• Improve the soil and air
• Have segments, nerve cords, closed circulatory
  system, coelum
• Excrete wastes called casting
• Stiff bristles on outside of body

• Lived here for hundreds of millions of years and
  adapted to nearly all environments.
• Largest group of animals on Earth.
• Largest group is insects
• 75 of all animal species
• Adapted to all environments.

• Name means spiny skinned
• Adults have radial symmetry
• Live on sea floor
• Has an endoskeleton
• Classes are sea stars, basket stars, sea
  urchins, sand dollars
