Other uses

• Recently experimentation on solid-state
  fermentation of Jatropha seed cake showed that,
  it could be a good source of low cost production
  of industrial enzymes
• The oil and aqueous extract from oil has
  potential as an insecticide
• Investigation of the coagulant activity of the
  latex of Jatropha, showed that whole latex
  significantly reduced the clotting time of human
  blood.

Conclusions

• The Jatropha industry is at a very early stage of
  development, though there are vigorous efforts to
  promote it, if successful, will alter the picture
  considerably
• The energy value of remaining portion of Jatropha
  fruit is twice that of biodiesel.
