• Responsible for Requirements Forecasting and
  Inventory Management for Class IX Consumables
• Over 18,000 National Stock Numbers
• Dollar Value in Excess of 30 Million

• Responsible for the Receipt, Storage, Issue of
  all Consumable Supplies Managed by SMU
• Four Warehouses Totaling 160,000 sqft of Indoor
  Storage Space

SMU Organization System Operations

• Responsible for the collection, consolidation and
  submission of over 20,000 transactions into the
  SASSY cycle on a daily basis.
• Coordinates with LOGCOM and other external
  activities to resolve system problems affecting I
  MEF units.

• Responsible for the Receipt and Fielding of New
  Equipment and Supporting Supplies

• Initial point of contact and liaison for the SMU
• Analyze unit trends and incorporate system
  changes or training.
• Conduct quarterly site visits and provide
  training material to I MEF units.
• Establishes monthly training classes
• Disseminates information concerning intermediate
  level supply support via Newsletters, Email, and
  SASSY Procedural Notices.
• Manages Using Units records on Exception basis
• Provides assistance with Data Entry, Inventory,
  Inquiry Requests, and Technical Research

• The direct link between Deployed Forces (i.e.,
  MEU) and the SMU
• Receives, Process, Expedites and Tracks all
  Deployed Unit Requirements
• Provides Status of all Shipments, Cradle to Grave

• Preservation, Packaging and Packing (P3)
• Preserve equipment not in use (i.e., War
  Reserve/Level A pack)
• Package equipment to prevent damage during
  shipment
• Traffic Management Office
• Provide a consolidated distribution and
  in-transit visibility focal point for I MEF
  units.
