Though there is no ideal day prescribed to start
Suryadarshan, thus, any day can be a better day
to start with, but has to be sincerely practiced
every day with concentrated mind on regular
basis, preferably in the morning or evening at
interval of 24 hours. Following are the
procedures
(a) The best time to practice Suryadarshan is one
hour before the sunrise and the sunset, keeping
in mind of the timing at different seasons. It is
advised to do both times, if not possible, at
least one time.

(b) Stand barefoot on earth, preferably on sand
avoid standing on grass, lawn or moist earth,
standing on a road, concrete, stone, marble or
terrace be avoided as it may not give the desired
result.
(c) Not to wear spectacles or head-cover, one
needs to stand erect with zeal and vigor, without
fear or excitement, but pleasantly.

(d) Look directly at the sun as if watching the
flow of a river or serene beauty of a mountain,
but keeping the whole body relaxed, including the
eyes and face, there may be irritation, watering
and uneasiness in eyes.
(e) On the first day, do it for 10 seconds only,
and increase it by 10 seconds as the day proceeds
so as to reach 100 seconds on tenth day, and 5
minutes on the 30th day.

(f) If one practices religiously, as much as 45
minutes can be easily reached in a month. It is
always advised to keep record of the time
regularly on each day, for accuracy of time
measurement, any type of count down timer can
be used.
(g) For any reason, if this practice is
interrupted, may be due to health grounds or
cloudy weather resume it from where one has
left.

(h) If one is able to do Suryadarshan for 45
minutes, if at least once as advised by
increasing ten seconds every day, there is no
need for the whole life.
(i) When this is attained, walking one hour
barefoot everyday on sand or land for one year
shall be enough.

(j) There is no restriction to practice while
undergoing treatment, and by doing so, one may
get rid of ailments, and may have to reduce the
dose of medication subsequently.
