Usual Problems and Fixes in Land Rover

Description:

Along with enormous power, a Land Rover also has its own problems to deal with. Usually, it is seen that there is a failure of air suspension, leaking fuel pressure regulator, failed gasket, fuel leaking into the engine or a fuel pump failure. See this show to know more about the usual problems and their fixes in a Land Rover. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Usual Problems and Fixes in Land Rover

1
Usual Problems And Fixes in Land Rover
2
The Land Rovers are one of the best vehicles
available in the market.
3
In the beginning, Land Rovers run smoothly but
when these vehicles grow old, they start to come
up with various issues.
4
The usual problems and fixes in your Land Rover
are listed below.
5
Failure of air suspension
6
Most Land Rovers have air suspension on the rear.
The usual problem is that the air springs wear
out and leak air.
7
The air compressor may also fail due to the
ingress of water if the filter hasnt been
changed as per the Land Rover service schedule.
8
Leaking fuel pressure regulator
9
The regulator is on the driver side of the engine
at the rear near the top and the leak will
normally flow down off the bottom of the engine.
10
The failure is caused by poor design of the way
the unit fits into the cylinder head and the unit
will need to be replaced with a new metal gasket.
11
Fuel pump failure
12
Poor starting and performance or a noisy pump
are the usual symptoms of a bad fuel pump.
13
This cannot be tested by just removing the fuel
pipe to check for flow. To properly diagnose the
fuel pressure has to be measured.
14
Failed head gasket
15
Land Rover used plastic dowels to locate the head
onto the block and the dowels can break and allow
the head to move around, leading to head gasket
failure.
16
Sometimes an area of the engine bore can be
chipped out by one of the valves due to the head
has moved relative to the block.
17
Fuel leaking into the engine
18
Diesel can leak past the injector washers or in
some cases the in-head fuel rail can crack and
cause a build-up of diesel in the sump.
19
In such a situation, it is possible for the
engine to run out of control and even fail
completely.
