or forbidding association with a particular
person, place, or thing.
4- Thousands of Indian woman are still been
suffering because of social taboos
5Some of the social taboos in India
- In many religions in India, marrying outside your
religion is considered unsacred and is frowned
upon. Mostly marrying outside their religion, the
bride or groom is killed
6- One of the cruel practise done in India is during
menstruation girls have to sleep only in balcony,
they are not allowed to enter kitchen, temple,
etc
7- Because they are considered impure. In some
societies it involves menstruation being
perceived as unclean or embarrassing.
8They are not allowed to go to school or touch
males. They are restricted to attend any
religious function. They are told that it is a
shame to tell the pharmacist that they need pad,
and showing it to boys.
9Menstruation is also a process like respiration
and digestion . There is no need of being
embarrassed. We should educate people about it.
Gender inequality is decreasing but not
disappearing. We all together joining hands
should help our mother earth come out of this
social taboos
