Payam Nia works at KLA in Milpitas, California,
as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer. Designing the
mechanical and mechatronics architecture of the
6-axis wafer positioning stage on the
SpectraShape product line, as well as guiding
stage certification from early design and lab
testing through tool integration, are among Payam
Nia's major duties.

Payam M Nia is also in charge of the Axion
product's dependability project, which involves
designing and testing a temperature control unit
within the X-Ray source control cabinet.

Payam Nia has exhibited design expertise as well
as the ability to effectively manage time,
project scope, and project difficulties. Payam
Nia also creates and maintains strong working
relationships with clients and cross-functional
company staff.

In 2014, Payam M Nia earned his doctorate from
Northeastern University. His thesis,
Control-Parameter-Space Classification for
Delay-Independent Stability of LTI Time-Delay
Systems, was done when he studied Mechanical
Engineering with a minor in Electrical
Engineering.

Payam Nia's technical skills include sensor
fusion, systems calibration and linear and
nonlinear optimization, vibration control,
time-delay systems control, optimal control,
robust control, and model predictive control.

Payam M Nia has created multi-feature sensor and
actuator tuning, calibration, and health check
applications for motion control systems as part
of the Versa modules software release for Carl
Zeiss X-Ray Microscopy in 2019.

Payam M Nia also took first place in the ASML
mechatronics robotics competition in 2014. In
addition, from 2010 through 2014, he received the
Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) Award from
Northeastern University's Graduate School of
Engineering.
