Title: Cynomyopsis cadaverina
1Cynomyopsis cadaverina
- Slides 2 through 5 are adults reared from 3rd
instars collected from a Canadian goose carcass
found at Beech Fork Lake (Wayne Co., WV). Larvae
placed in 3 styrofoam cups (6 larvae each cup)
filled with 5 cm sand/earth mixture on 22 Oct
06. Initial adult emergence on 30 Oct (at room
temperature). Additional emergence occurred on 31
Oct, 1 2 Nov. One female adult emerged in each
of above dates except 31 Oct when 2 females were
found. On 10 Nov one more adult emerged a male.
2Condition of carcass when first found on 22 Oct
06. Carcass was approximately 1.5 meters from
waters edge at swimming area.
