• Pollen must land on the stigma
• Pollen contains sperm nuclei and pollen tube
  nucleus
• Pollen tube nucleus extends into a pollen tube
  for sperm to travel and enter the ovary through
  the micropyle opening
• One sperm fertilizes the egg cell to form the
  zygote.
• The other fertilizes the central egg cells to
  form an endosperm- food for the seed.
• The ovule grows into a seed. The seed is
  protected by the ovary which grows around it into
  the fruit.

  ovule to make the zygote.
• One sperm cell fertilizes the central egg cells
  inside to make the endosperm/food
