Wimba Voice Tools Intro

• Use voice instead of text for familiar
  interactive online tasks
• Audio recording and playback controls are always
  there
• 1 year license
• Wimba hosts all materials and provides tech
  support
• LSS will coordinate things
• All you need is a mic!

Why use voice tools?

• More chances for students to practice speaking in
  the target language
• Gets your student speaking in the target language
  outside of class.
• Some students may be shy about speaking in class
  but not in front of a mic
• Customize your audio exercises for your
  particular class

• Login where the email tells you to using your
  assigned password
• Is your computer ready?Click here to run the
  setup wizard before entering for the first time.
  
• Java is necessary to run the voicetools
• No other software needed but a browser

How can voice materials be used?

• Can be linked to from within Learn_at_UW, although
  does not integrate with the gradebook
• Can be used on your own web page, either linked
  or embedded
• Can be downloaded to iPods (see handout)
