The Ranking Process

• All MIDN a ranked PRIOR to their FITREP.
• Ranking boards are scheduled to meet to rack and
  stack all MIDN by class.
• Once the MIDN are ranked, their score will be
  available to their immediate superior.
• Their superior MUST evaluate to match their
  ranking score.
• This process seems unfair upon intial review.
  However, time and experience (via LT) say that
  this is the only way to ensure that, despite
  different grading styles, the grades are fair.

The FITREP Form

• FITREP forms are filled out electronically, by
  your IMMEDIATE superior. If you dont know who
  that is, ask.
• Some blocks will be filled out by the CSO task
  team. These blocks include
• 6, 7.a, 7.b, 8, 9, 22, 23

Performance Traits

• It is imperative that the composite score
  (average) from the Performance Traits section
  meet that which is given by the ranking boards.
• Each intermediate block is equal to 0.2. (i.e.
  the middle block in progressing is equal to 1.8)

Comments on Performance

• Use short, bulleted statements.
• Cite SPECIFIC examples.
• The CSO and staff will fill out the section at
  the bottom of block 22.

Why FITREPS

• This helps senior staff select fellow MIDN for
  selection next drill semester.
• A primary responsibility for officers is the
  review of their personnel.
• Its your chance to make sure that all those
  above you know how hard you have been working.
