Home Evacuation
  • Establish a meeting place (nearby outside your
    neighborhood)
  • Have a plan for pets
  • Know practice emergency evacuation
  • Teach each family member how when to turn off
    utilities at entry point
  • Practice the plan

Family Communication
  • Always carry ID emergency contact numbers
  • An out-of town contact may be better able to
    communicate with separated family members
  • Be sure every family member knows the number
    carries coins or a prepaid phone card
  • Be patient, as phone lines are likely to be
    overloaded in an emergency

  • Turn off all fans, heating and air conditioning
    systems.
