Project Goals

• Survey existing WFP projects to determine water
  system functionality and sustainability
• Evaluate best practices and education needs
• Pilot the survey process for both functionality
  and repeatability
• Create a database of survey results for accurate
  analysis and reporting of data
• Provide accessibility to the data

The Project Team

• In country WFP staff and coordinators
• WFP Country / Regional managers
• Individual volunteers and corporate sponsored
  staff with specialty skills
• Government (SANAA) and Local municipalityrepresen
  tatives

The Survey Process

• Interview village water committee representative
  and gather data about water system operation
• Interview a representative number of village
  residents about water availability, personal
  usage and system operation
• Observe surrounding conditions which could impact
  water quality and document with photos and GPS
• Collect water samples for field analysis
• Enter data into PCs

Use Existing Methods and Technologies

• Dont reinvent (didnt have time or the money)
• Survey methods and questions based on experience
• Utilize existing software that followed the same
  workflow process (collect, analyze and report)
• Utilize proven hardware.
