Title: The Sepoy
1The Sepoy
2Henry Blogg with Monte, a Tyrolean Sheep dog.
Previously rescued from the SS Monte Nevoso
3The sailing barge Sepoy was beached. The rowing
lifeboat Alexandra was pulled along the beach
ready to launch.
4A messenger line was fired to the sailing barge
Sepoy. Meanwhile the Alexandra waited on the
beach.
5Another messenger line was fired after the first
one failed to reach the Sepoy.
6In the rough sea the lifeboat men found it hard
to row. The lifeboat was swept past the barge.
7Help at last! Henry Blogg and his crew arrived.
He steered the motor lifeboat onto the deck of
the Sepoy to rescue the tired sailors.
8Henry Blogg beached the HF Bailey directly on the
beach so the survivors could be quickly taken to
hospital.
9Helpers and onlookers watched as the Sepoy
settled on the seabed.
10At the award ceremony Mrs Bond Cabbell presented
Henry Blogg with a silver medal for the bravery
of the crew.
