2How can Environments Change?
3Environments can change in at least three ways.
- Floods
- Earthquake
- Volcano
4The first way we will discuss isFloods
5Floods
- Excessive amounts of rain that accumulate on
earth and change the surface, and change things
on the surface of the earth.
6How do floods affect the earth?
- Floods change the surface of the earth by
preventing certain plants from growing and
helping others to grow better.
7How do floods affect the animals?
- Floods can kill the grass that some animals eat.
8How do floods affect people?
- Floods can affect peoples homes.
- It can prevent them from being able to leave
their town by closing roads.
9The second way we will discuss isEarthquakes
10Earthquake
- An earthquake can change the environment quickly,
when an earthquake happens the earth shakes back
and forth.
11How do earthquakes affect the earth?
- When an earthquake happens, the earth shakes back
and forth and it can put cracks in the earths
surface. - Under the earth, there are very large pieces of
rock called plates, that shift around. When two
of them hit each other it causes an earthquake.
12How do earthquakes affect the animals?
- An earthquake could affect the animals by moving
the ground and changing its shape in the places
they live.
13How do earthquakes affect people?
- Earthquakes can affect people by changing the
surface of the land that they live on. - It could also change the way their city or town
looks.
14The Third way we will discuss isVolcanoes
15Volcanoes
- When a volcano erupts, hot lava is pushed out.
- Lava, is melted rock from under the earths
surface.
16How do volcano's affect the earth?
- Volcanos can cover the earth with lava that
hardens and becomes rock. - The plants, land and soil are covered and gone
completely.
17How do Volcanos affect the animals?
- Volcanoes send hot, melted rock out from a
mountain and cover the surrounding areas. This
could cover the fields or forests where they
live, or kill the animals.
18How do Volcanoes affect people?
- A volcano fills the air with smoke that is
harmful to breathe for both people and animals
19There are many ways the environment can change,
and we know about three.
