Whats wrong here?

• In 1996, the Quigley Corporation began to market
  a product called Cold-Eeze. The company provided
  these lozenges to the Cleveland Clinic for
  research purposes.
• At the Cleveland clinic, 100 people who had
  developed colds within the previous 24 hours were
  instructed to take the zinc lozenge every 2 hours
  while awake or a placebo.

Why is this ok?

• Zinc takers reported 1 to 3 days fewer with major
  cold symptoms of runny nose, sore throat,
  coughing
• Wording on the Cold-Eeze packaging clinically
  proven and reduce the duration and severity of
  the common cold.
