  Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE)
  following reference in the Final Tomlinson Report
  (Oct 04)
• Focus on raising attainment, providing
  progression opportunities and widening
  participation in HE.
• 200 pilot centres.

• Full QCA approval of qualification
• Provides a framework for accrediting
  PSHE/Citizenship/WRL
• GCSE equivalence provided at level 1 achievement
  of CoPE (25 points for league table purposes)
• GCSE equivalence provided at level 2 achievement
  of CoPE (46 points for league table purposes.)

  achievement of CoPE (10 more than an A grade at
  AS Level.)

COPE QUALIFICATION RESULTS FROM THE CASE STUDY
CENTRES (I0E EVALUATION)

• Aylwin School, London Nearly 2 points increase
  in A - C results from using CoPE with a small
  group of students.
• Northcliffe School, Doncaster The schools A -
  C results were raised by over 4 through CoPE.
• Mid Cheshire College (Young Apprenticeships)
  Submitting candidates in Spring 2007.

COPE QUALIFICATION RESULTS /CONTINUED.

• St Edmund Campion School (North East) The
  schools overall A-C results increased by over
  3 from the use of CoPE.
• Sir Bernard Lovell School (South Glos) 148
  students received 440 units of CoPE
  accreditation. Candidates submitting for full
  qualification next year.
• Mount Bay School (Cornwall) submitting
  candidates in Spring 2007/
