Student progression
  • Students must have 120 level 1 and 120 level 2
    credits before going on to placement.
  • Students trailing level 1 modules must be
    passed by the end of this year.
  • Students who fail any level 2 modules must pass
    them at referral time.

Module registration
  • Trailing level 1 modules make sure you are
    registered on modules.

Group work
  • Importance
  • Problems
  • Solve problems within the group.
  • Notify the module tutor early on if you cant
    solve the problems.
  • Keep records of attendance at meetings and
    e-mails sent I will expect evidence.

  • Attend.
  • Keep up to date.
  • Read and study in own time.
  • Manage your time.
  • Level 2 marks count for 1/3 of the total.
  • You must pass all level 1 and level 2 modules
    before proceeding on placement.

  • Over 70 1st
  • 60-69 2.1
  • 50-59 2.2
  • 40-49 3rd
  • Compensation
  • Receive between 30 and 40 in up to two modules
    with overall average of 45.

  • Programme Assessment Board (PAB)

  • Less than 40 with valid PMC.

Late submission of work
  • Five day extension
  • See module tutor.
  • Requires documentary evidence.
  • Serious problems affecting work
  • Complete PMC form from general office.
  • Requires documentary evidence.
  • Considered by PMC committee may be rejected.
  • Make sure I know about it.

Medical condition (e.g. dyslexia)
  • Only affects examinations not coursework.
  • Ensure you notify the exam office to receive exam
    extensions.
  • Go to student services for advice and help.
  • Notify me.

Academic impropriety
  • Plagiarism
  • Copying text without acknowledgement.
  • You will be expelled from the route and you will
    not be allowed to undertake study at JMU.
