Andreas Vesalius
  • Andreas Vesalius was born on December 31, 1514.
  • He was born in Brussels.
  • Vesalius studied anatomy.
  • His schooling consisted of School of the Brothers
    of Common Life, University of Louvain, University
    of Paris, and the University of Padua.
  • Vesalius died on October 15, 1564.

  • Studied surgery and anatomy and published an
    anatomical manual, thus contributing to the
    Scientific Revolution.
  • Wrote about the discovery and therapeutic use of
    china root in the treatment of syphilis
  • Introduced a new procedure, the surgically
    induced draining of emphysema.
  • During the Enlightenment he invented new cures
    and surgeries. People were focusing more on
    people than other things, so this helped.
