Basic Objective
The winning of new markets and on optimum
satisfaction of needs of both domestic and
foreign tourists in a sustainable environment in
such a manner so as to achieve the best possible
enhancement in the quality of life of the local
population and benefit for the national economy.
In fulfilling this goal the involvement of the
local population in tourism has to be encouraged
and the sustainability of the country and the
towns and settlements respected.

4 Principles
- 1. Tourism is a tool of supporting increases in
competitiveness, structural changes in the
economy and sustainable development with the aim
of increasing the share of forex income from
active foreign tourism in GDP from the current
2.7 to 4 in 2013 and increasing the number of
stays overnight. -
- 2. Tourism is a tool of developing employment
and flexibility of labour markets. -
- 3. Tourism is a means of regional development
and business development. -
- Tourism is a tool of presentation
- and promotion of Slovakia.
