  disease) consult your health care provider
• Good hygiene (hand washing)
• Good cough and sneeze coverage/care
• Talk with friends and family
• Plan ahead
• Follow local media coverage

If you get the flu. . . usually mild

• Stay at home
• Avoid contact (self isolate)
• Social distancing
• Rest and fluids (non-alcoholic) allows healthy
  people to recover
• Cover sneeze and cough
• Call health care provider as needed

Comfort Measures

• Acetominophen (tylenol)
• Ibuprofen (Advil, motrin)
• Naproxyn (Alleve)
• No aspirin (ASA) for fever if age less than 18
  years
• Health care provider may prescribe antivirals
  like Tamiflu to lessen symptoms

CDC recommendation

• Remain home until fever free without medication
  to reduce fever for 24 hours
• Many employers are using 7 day absence rule
  especially in healthcare
