ANSI HSSP Mission
  • To identify existing consensus standards, or, if
    non exist, assist the Department of Homeland
    Security (DHS) and those sectors requesting
    assistance to accelerate development and adoption
    of consensus standards critical to homeland
    security. The ANSI-HSSP promotes a positive,
    cooperative partnership between the public and
    private sectors in order to meet the needs of the
    nation in this critical area.
  • The Panel supports the work of the DHS Science
    and Technology (ST) Directorates Office of
    Standards.

ANSI-HSSP Structure
  • Co-Chairs (private and public sectors)
  • Christian Dubay, National Fire Protection
    Association (NFPA)
  • Gordon Gillerman, National Institute of Standards
    and Technology (NIST)
  • Steering Committee
  • Comprised of Government Agencies, ANSI SDOs,
    non-ANSI SDOs, Companies, and five at-large
    seats, and past Co-Chair
  • Full Panel
  • Approximately 100 organizational participants
    open to all affected interests brought together
    via Plenary meetings
  • Workshops
  • Address specific homeland security issues
    objectives are typically to identify existing
    standards and conformity assessment programs, gap
    areas, and make recommendations for addressing
    these gaps.

ANSI HSSP Membership
  • Participation in the ANSI-HSSP is open to
    representatives of industry, government,
    professional societies, trade associations,
    standards developers, and consortia groups
    directly involved in U.S. Homeland Security
    standardization.
