Kupenda (Swahili for "to love") for the children"
is a 501 (c)(3)tax-exempt Christian charity that
meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs
of handicapped children in the developing world.

Why Kupenda is needed

• Estimated 10 of people disabled (probably more
  but no real study has been done)
• Only 10of disabled in Kenya attend school

• Social stigma still placed on those with physical
  disabilities

• Average income is less than 1 a day

• Even where there are special schools funding to
  attend is unavailable and schools lack adequate
  facilities

• Hospital and equipment needs unable to be met

• Provide the unconditional love only those who
  have experienced it can provide

How Kupenda started

• Saw many disabilities I was familiar with because
  of my experience at hospitals in the U.S.

• These people did not have the same opportunities
  I and others had
