can borrow and return books pay library fees or
fines reserve group study rooms and pick up the
key request books located at Atherton Library
ask for Reserve collection materials and request
CLOSED collection books. lt2gt Circulating Book
Collection These books may be borrowed. You may
borrow up to five books at one time. Books are
arranged by call number. On the end of the
shelves are labels showing what section of call
numbers are located there. Call numbers beginning
with A start on the shelf near the Service
Desk. If you need help locating a call number,
ask at the Service Desk. lt3gt Group Study
Rooms These rooms are available for student
meetings. You make a reservation and pick up the
key at the Circulation Services Desk. Two more
rooms are located on the 2nd floor. lt4gt Copy

in the English Foundations Program. The books are
selected for reading practice and entertainment,

Atherton Library or ask for help finding
periodicals. lt2gt Newspapers Display On display
are current issues of selected newspapers. Older
issues, and those not on display, are stored in
the Newspaper Room and on microfiche or
microfilm. lt3gt Periodicals Display On display
are current issues of selected periodicals. Older
issues and those not on display are stored on the
shelves with the Print Periodicals Collection or
in the cabinets with the Microform Periodicals
Collection. Consult the ULPL (University
Libraries Periodical List) to find where a
specific periodical title is located. lt4gt

the Internet, periodical databases, read email,
or search the HPU Libraries Catalog. lt5gt Bank
Letters Display Current issues of newsletters
from Federal Reserve Banks and other banks. lt6gt

partly-enclosed desks are for study. Please do
not leave your books, bags, or other items
unattended in these carrels. lt8gt Microform
Periodicals Collection Periodicals received in
microfiche or microfilm are stored in these
cabinets alphabetically by the title of the
periodical. Use the Microform Printers and
Readers to print or view the microfiche or
microfilm. If you need help using the machines,
ask at the Periodical Services Desk. lt9gt
Newspaper Room Older issues of newspapers, and
those not on display, are stored in this room.
Most print newspapers are kept for three to four
months. Older issues are usually kept in
microfilm or microfiche. Use the ULPL (University

Printers and Readers These two rooms contain the
machines used to view or print the microform
periodicals. Microfiche and microfilm printers
accept coins, 1, and 5 bills.

the periodical you want is kept in print or

Books that are larger than standard shelf size
