Getting to Know Me

• I am married with three children
• I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary/Special
  Education from Holy Family University
• Currently, I am seeking a Masters in Elementary
  Education with a Reading Specialist Certification
• I have been teaching T1 for 5 years

What is Transitional First Grade?

• A number of primary children need more time to
  develop those skills necessary to have a
  successful educational experience. 
• So, they require a half-step program of learning
  skills which we call the Transitional Class.

Advantages

• Smaller class size (limit 15)
• Opportunities for more individual attention
• A developmentally appropriate environment
• A curriculum similar to kindergarten and first
  grade yet different.  We have our own materials.
• Less stress for children not ready for first
  grade
• Time to grow, mature, and strengthen weaknesses
