12WG3/WG12 Saturday Modules Meeting 3 Levels of
Modules
- Level 0 Foundation Modules
- WG12 owner
- Level 0 will define entities, types, extensible
selects, - Global Rules allowed under special circumstances
- Level 1 Unit of Functionality Module
- WG3, JWG8 or JWG9 owner
- A module or an aggregation of a set of modules
(Level 0 or 1) to provide a common set of
functionality that will be reused in other
modules. - Level 1 (UoF) module will define entities, types,
selects, etc. and may extend selects but will
typically not define global rules
13WG3/WG12 Saturday Modules Meeting - 3 Levels of
Modules
- Level 2 Implementation Modules (formally
Conformance Class) - WG3, JWG8, or JWG9 Owner
- A collection of modules (Level 0, 1 or 2) that
define a capability that can be implemented and
against which conformance classes may be defined - Requires a long form (ARM and MIM) generated from
short forms of child modules - Level 2 modules will define entities, types,
selects, etc., may extend selects in other
modules, and will define subtype constraints,
global rules, and complete selects (no empty
selects allowed) - Each AP shall have a Level 2 module which
provides a root to its complete scope. This is
known as the AP module - Recommended practice that no new entities are
created for Level 2 modules
