3SafetyNet WP2 - Risk Exposure Data Background
- Why RED (Risk/Exposure Data)?
- RED use makes it possible to analyse traffic
safety indicators in terms risk level and
probability comparisons between EU Member States.
- WP2 Objectives
- Systematic measurement of exposure in EU Member
States and use of transformation rules if
necessary. - Comparison with Accident data to evaluate risk
across EU. - Recommendations and guidelines for data
collection and proceeding.
- WP2 Methodology
- Develop a common E.U. framework and format to
collect and store RED from Member States - Link RED to CARE and apply at EU level
- Support to Member States to improve RED
collection and use
4SafetyNet WP2 - Risk Exposure DataBackground -
Fundamental Principles
- Common RED framework will be used to make
possible comparisons, in accordance with the CARE
database.
- RED delivery data should be sent by M.S. to the
Commission (according to the council Ministers of
the 5th June 2003) through an ad hoc website
(CIRCA).
- RED recording just as collected by M.S.
- RED Transformation rules and aggregations will
be used to make possible Risk Exposure
comparisons across the EU M.S.
