• Blaise Pascal was born on June 19, 1623
• He was born in Clermont, France.

• He was home schooled by his father and was
  considered a genius by the age of twelve.
• In 1631 he moved to Paris.

• He designed the pascaline, a calculating machine,
  in 1641-1653.
• He designed and built it while in Paris.
• He designed the pascaline to help his father
  count large sums of money.

• His religion was extremely important to him.
• But he suddenly abandoned it for unknown reasons
  in 1650.
• After he barely escaped from an accident in a
  carriage on November 23, 1654, he returned to
  studying his religion.

• He worked on the geometry of the cycloid.
• He invented the syringe and hydraulic press.
• He created Pascal's Triangle.

• After society rejected an invention, he
  completely renounced his interest in science and
  mathematics.
• He devoted the rest of his life to God.
• He died from a brain hemorrhage at the age of 39
  at Paris on august 19, 1662.
