The Fall of Charleston

• The British blockaded Charles Town Harbor in
  Spring 1780.
• British soldiers surrounded the land around the
  city.

The Fall of Charleston

• After 42 days, the city surrendered in May of
  1780.
• Forces remained in Charles Town until December of
  1782.

• The British continued their march into the
  backcountry.
• Patriots from South Carolina, North Carolina, and
  Tennessee joined to fight the British at Kings
  Mountain.
