explorers and settled modern day
Newfoundland. 3. The
1st English settlement in America was in
Jamestown, Virginia.
4French Contributions
Two French explorers were 1. Giovanni
Verrazano who was sent by the French to find a
Northwest Passage through America to Asia. 2. The
French later sent Jacquis Cartier and Samuel de
Champlain to North America. 3. The 1st
French settlement in America was in Quebec.
5World Trade
?The triangle trade was a three directional trade
route between Europe, Africa, and America.
?3 Steps Process 1. Europeans brought
manufactured goods to Africa such as knives,
swords, guns, cloth, and rum.
2. The slaves were then picked up in Western
Africa and brought to the Americas in order to
be sold.
3. The slaves were then sold for sugar, molasses,
cotton, and tobacco.
