Stage 1 Single agency

• Could be Educational Psychologist, Speech and
  Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist,
  Doctor
• Identify strengths and needs in relation to the
  triad of impairment
• Usually, put interventions in place to address
  concerns, and review
• Use Camdens SEN guidance criteria

Stage 2 Multi-agency assessment

• Social Communication Assessment Service (SCAS)
• Part of Mosaic
• Take referrals after Stage 1 assessment
• Referrals on an e.Caf to Mosaic
• Currently 5 19, moving towards 0 - 19

SCAS Process

• Existing members of school and Team Around the
  Child (TAC) join SCAS (SENCo/teacher, EP, SaLT)
  for the SCAS assessment
• Paediatric assessment
• Autism-specific assessments used (ADI-R and ADOS)
  plus assessment of other needs if appropriate
  (sensory, mental health)
• TAC discussion of assessment findings
• Feedback to parents (plus two follow ups)
• Feedback to network
