Build Project/Design Lab

• You must choose between
• Building a vehicle for an egg drop or
• Designing and completing an investigation
• You may work alone or with ONE partner
• You will have four class days to complete the
  task. The write up is due on Friday, and will
  NOT be accepted late.

Build Project

• Design a vehicle to protect an egg during a fall.
  The vehicle will be dropped from the second
  floor of the 600 building.
• Materials Due (Project Report)
• Design (An annotated sketch of the vehicle)
• Justification of Design, discussion on impulse
  momentum, and discussion on air bags and bumpers
  in motor vehicles and helmets
• Reflection on success of design (completed after
  the vehicle egg have been dropped)

Design Lab

• Design a laboratory investigation related to one
  of the topics covered so far. Only include the
  use of materials that you have access to.
• Complete a full lab report according to the
  guidelines. (If youve lost your copy, pull up
  the file IB Physics I Lab Report Rubric under
  Classroom Documents on my web page.)

Timeline

• Tuesday
• Thoroughly plan your build project or design lab.
• Wednesday Thursday
• Construct your build project or collect data for
  your lab.
• Test egg drop vehicle or analyze data
• Complete Project Report or Lab Report
• Friday
• Finishing touches on Project Report or Lab Report
• All reports are due 20 minutes into the class
  period.
