SOLDIER RESEARCH HOMEWORK

• You have already visited your local memorial or
  talked to your family about any relatives who
  died during WW1.
• You will have already chosen 1 soldier to focus
  on in more detail by finding out
• What the soldiers regiment was involved in
  throughout WW1? (examples of battles, dates,
  places it was sent etc.)
• the name of the battle the regiment was involved
  in around the date your soldier died? (Dont
  worry if youre not certain, pick the nearest one
  you can find.)
• What happened in the battle you think your
  soldier died in battle?

Your next task is to produce a short visual
presentation on your chosen soldier.

• As well as the main facts you need to include
  relevant pictures, maps etc of the information
  you have discovered
• e.g. if you soldier died in the Battle of the
  Somme find some photos of the actual battle and
  locate on a map where his regiment fought. You
  could also include a photograph of the cemetery
  where the soldier is buried.
• These will need to be emailed to me, or bought in
  a memory stick.
• If possible I want to put them on the school
  website and put an article in the roundup so that
  the local community can look at your soldiers.
• Who knows maybe you have done a presentation on
  someones relative and they may contact the
  school with more detail
