5What is WITS2001 Voice Mail?
Voice Mail Service provides customers the ability
to use the Voice Mail feature of the WITS2001
Network by leasing individual mailboxes on a
monthly basis. WITS2001 Voice Mail Service allows
users to tailor individual announcements to alert
callers when they are not available to answer
their phone. Voice Mail allows callers to leave a
detailed 90-second message to inform the user of
the information that is required by the caller,
which increases productivity and eliminates
telephone tag. The service is accessible from
any telephone with a standard push button tone
pad.
6What can WITS2001 Voice Mail do?
Voice Mail Service is a communications tool that
allows users that may be out of the office, in
meetings, or on travel, to interact with their
office and customers using a voice networking
technology called Voice Mail. Voice Mail can also
electronically store documents using the fax
feature, which allows users to print faxes at a
remote location and does not require users to be
in their work locations to receive important
documents. Voice Mail allows users to accomplish
more in less time.

- Automated Attendant (Type 30)
- An Automated Attendant (AA) Mailbox is a feature
that answers calls to the server and prompts
callers to enter an extension number or spell a
name. After the caller enters the extension
number or name, the automated attendant transfers
the call. - Callers Menu Only (Type 31)
- Callers Menu Plus Extension (Type 32)
- Callers Menu Plus Mailbox (Type 33)
- A menu of single digit options in type 31, 32 or
33 mailboxes. For example, To reach the sales
dept., press one. To speak with the personnel
office, press two. Callers choose an option and
are routed to an extension or mailbox on the
server. - Transfer Mailbox (Type 34 and 35)
- Type 34 and 35 mailboxes transfer callers to
specific destinations. This destination can be
another voice mailbox or extension.

- Information Center - Listen Only Mailbox
- A Listen Only Mailbox provides an outgoing
message up to a maximum of 5 minutes. Listen Only
Mailboxes can also contain an optional opening
greeting, which would be the first thing a caller
would hear. Following the greeting, a message
would be played. Listen Only Mailboxes are
designed for applications where information is
provided to the caller and no response is needed.
Each mailbox has its own number and once callers
reach a specific mailbox they can listen to a
recorded announcement. At the end of the message,
callers are automatically disconnected or routed
to another destination. - Information Center - Listen and Reply Mailbox
- As with the Listen Only Mailbox, Listen and Reply
Mailboxes can also provide an opening greeting,
followed by a message. After listening to this
message or question, callers are prompted to
record a reply, listen to the message again, or
hang-up without recording a reply. The recorded
replies are stored in the subscribers mailbox
for review by the person who recorded the message
or question.
