Title: Diapositiva 1
1Don Bosco Witness of Love
2Don Bosco
A face to be contemplated on
by one who looks into his eyes
3Contact with him was a stairway to God... So
being surprised and captivated by Don Bosco one
was fascinated by the supernatural power of his
purity.
4He was like the refreshing smile of God
over the sadness of the
world.
Not only by his words, but also by his presence
he inspired love of this virtue...
5His face radiated Divine love so did his entire
person every word that sprung from his heart
spoke of God... from the pulpit, in
the confessional, at conferences, in
private and in public and even in
casual conversations.
6He attracted us to himself through the fullness
of the supernatural love that overflowed from his
heart.
In that sanctity lay the entire secret that
attracted, conquered and transformed all who came
to him.
7For youngsters,
Don Bosco became father,
teacher and friend
He was a privileged witness of Gods love
for them!
8For Don Bosco YOUTH were a gift of
predilection
EDUCATION is the way of announcing, of
witnessing, it is a SIGN OF
CONCRETE CHARITY prompted by the Spirit
The education of yougsters is A
PATH TO SANCTITYboth for Don Bosco and for
youngsters
9On whatever day, at whatever time, you are always
in my thoughts. But especially in what concerns
your soul. For my part, I give you
everything, my very self it wont be
much, but when I say I give you everything,
I keep nothing for myself.
10For you I study, for you I work, for you Iive and
for you I am ready to give even my life.
11A spirituality of communion
To make the Church a home and a school of
communion
To listen to a brother who is a part of me
12The variety of vocations
Making place for the gifts of the Spirit
Our educative mission has the objective of
helping every youngster to discover
his/her vocation in the Church
and the world
13Relying on Charity
Committed to loving, actively and concretely
so that every youngster can live with
dignity
14Daily Challenges
drugs, alcohol
loneliness
prostitution
15injustice
indifference
ignorance
16Dialogue and mission
I assure you that I will give myself to my last
breath for you my dear youngsters
17Don Bosco wanted his youngsters to be
cheerful and thoughtful, prayerful, sensible
and capable of true
friendship...
18Youth are a special gift of the Spirit of God...
the jubilee of youth,John Paul II said, is
like a youngster openly sending us a message
that expresses a deep gasp in spite of the
possible ambiguities of life
19Don Bosco and the Pope asked youngsters to make
a radical choice for faith and life
becoming heralds of the morning at the dawn
of the third millennium!!!
20And we? Do we trust our
youngsters? How much do we meet their needs, even
indirectly, their questions of prayer,
of interiority, of trust,
of friendship, of help? How much
do we believe that education is the way to
holiness?
21We ask your pardon, O Lord, for being incompetent
educators of the youngLord
have mercy
22Our eyes ought to look for God, our feet to walk
toward God, our hands to work for God, our hearts
ought to beat for God, and our entire selves to
serve God
23Let us praise God for the gifts with which we may
write the story of our own commitmentI
will sing of the mercies of the Lord, forever!
